LifeSpring Photography gets a new look!

Today LifeSpring Photography got a facelift, including a new website with updated galleries!

Here's to the Teachers!

You've heard me talk before about the students at the Marion CSA who put on such amazing performances, but I really haven't said much about the instructors who put in countless hours behind the scenes to teach those kids how to dance, play, and create art.

Now's the teachers' chance to shine!

On Sunday afternoon I went to CSA CENTRAL deep in a cave beneath Gotham city... erm, I mean downtown Marion Indiana to photograph some of the instructors for billboards and promotional materials that will be used this year.

The Jordan VanHemert Show!

Jordan VanHemert -- Jazz Musician

Long time blog readers may remember that last summer I visited Holland MI for the Thursday night Street Performance Series and photographed a number of artists there including a Jazz trio led by Jordan VanHemert of Zeeland MI.

Well, earlier this week Jordan contacted me about helping him with images for his press kit so on Wednesday evening we met at LemonJellos in downtown Holland for a photo session. We grabbed a few images right on the spot and then headed down to Centennial park for more. The session ended on 8th Street for a totally different look.

There were so many great images from the session that I had a difficult time narrowing it down to just a few for my blog -- I'll have to do a slideshow to showcase more of them!

Jeff and Miranda -- Wedded Bliss!

Saturday was shaping up to be a beautiful summer day as I climbed into my car and headed for Kokomo Indiana for Jeff and Miranda's wedding. The sky was clear, sunny, and gentle breezes puffed through the trees as we pulled up at Hillsdale Methodist church.

The ceremony was to be held under the trees, and hundreds of white folding chairs had been placed in gentle arcs facing the three crosses at the edge of the river.

Everything was just perfect, right down to the sunshine sparkling on the water!

Jim and Michele -- Engagement Session

Would the rain hold off? I gripped the steering wheel of my car hard as I made my way to Indianapolis a few weekends ago. Weather.com had said "partly cloudy" but it looked like storm clouds ahead!

After a free car wash courtesy of the rainclouds around Elwood Indiana, I broke through to the sunny area that surrounded Indianapolis and made it to the White River Gardens for Jim and Michele's engagement session.

God has a real sense of timing, because the rain held off exactly until we had finished our time in the gardens and were walking back out to the cars! We had just the perfect amount of time to enjoy the gardens together before it began to sprinkle.

iDance -- Can't Stop Now!

Have I told you lately how much I adore the Community School of the Arts here in Marion?

Well, I probably don't say so often enough, but the CSA really is fantastic. How often do you see kids from a small town put on a production over four hours in length that features Broadway quality performances?

Here are a few reasons why the Marion CSA amazes me:

#1 Students who defy gravity:



#2 He can play ball, dance, and drive a Go-Kart like nobody's business:



#3 No one else's Pirates are quite as charming:



#4 The fiercest (and nicest) dancers ever:



#5 Kids who aren't afraid to make a real impact on stage and off:



And Dance is only just a part of what the CSA offers our community! Thanks Grant County for supporting the Community School of the Arts!
